Fauna
and Flora
The
landscape at Engogo is mountainous and is dominated by wild grasslands
and indigenous mountain forest. Although there are tracts of wattle, the
management team and staff are in the process of an in-depth eradication
program that sees these being replaced by natural vegetation that suits
each region cleared.

Large
Yellow woods with Celtis species and Combretum and Rhus species make up
the bulk of the indigenous forest. There are many smaller wild flowers
that vary in each season from Aloes, to orchards and bulb species. Keep
an eye on our events calendar for specialist botanical weekends where
hikes are guided by botanical specialists and an entire botanically
orientated weekend is held.

The
bird life is outstanding due to the diverse landscape. A full

Fencing
for game is currently underway and we will keep you posted as to the
species stocked. First up will be plains game and then Kudu, Eland,
Giraffe and other species too.
